Bielsa rules out signings
Marcelo Bielsa insists he is "comfortable" with his Leeds United squad and has no intention of dipping into the transfer market before the window shuts next week.
Bielsa has overseen three straight defeats going into the Premier League showdown at free-falling Newcastle United, but is adamant he won't be looking to bolster his ranks.
I'm happy with the squad that we have. I'm comfortable with it and feel we can finish the season with these players.Marcelo Bielsa
The Whites have struggled for consistency since winning promotion to the top-flight and have failed to find the net in their last three matches, a sequence which includes a humiliating 3-0 reverse at League Two Crawley in the FA Cup.
Bielsa has been linked with Wigan starlet Sean McGurk and Fiorentina midfielder Erick Pulgar, while there were also calls for Leeds to sign another goalkeeper.
But the Argentinian has always backed his young keeper Illan Meslier, who he says is fit to line up against Newcastle after missing the last two matches.
Diego Llorente could be named on the bench at St James's Park, although fellow defenders Robin Koch and Gaetano Berardi remain sidelined.
"It's not contemplated that we're going to bring anyone in," Bielsa told reporters. "I'm happy with the squad that we have. I'm comfortable with it and feel we can finish the season with these players."
Leeds face a Newcastle side who have slipped down the table after a ten-game winless run and have failed to score in their last four outings. However, Bielsa says his only concern is the up-and-down form of his own team.
"We analyse the difficulties of the opponent but of course we worry more about our own difficulties and our difficulties are just as present as theirs," he added.
