Set-pieces a focus for Pep

Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola says his title-chasing team must be wary of West Brom's threat from set-pieces when they travel to the Hawthorns on Tuesday.

City have soared to the head of the Premier League title betting after winning each of their last six matches and are chasing a third title in four seasons.

I know how good Allardyce teams are at set-pieces and throw-ins and corners.

Guardiola's men sit second in the Premier League and trail fierce rivals Manchester United by two points, albeit they have a game in hand and can leapfrog them with victory at the Hawthorns.

City have been transformed in recent weeks, but prior to their six-game winning run they were held to a 1-1 draw by West Brom at the Etihad.

Despite having 26 shots to West Brom’s seven, the Baggies snatched a surprise point in Manchester courtesy of an own-goal from Ruben Dias.

City have kept clean sheets in five of their six wins since, but Guardiola says they can't take the challenge of second-bottom West Brom lightly.

Speaking during Monday's pre-match press conference, Guardiola said: "I know how good Allardyce teams are at set-pieces and throw-ins and corners.

"I imagine they worked a lot this week to punish us in this way. They attack the channel because they have incredibly fast players up front, but at the same time you have to look for the weak spots."

City have won their last ten games in all competitions, but required three late goals to progress past League Two Cheltenham Town in the FA Cup on Saturday.

The Citizens will be without Sergio Aguero, Kevin De Bruyne - who is out for at least four weeks with injury -?and Nathan Ake for the trip to the Midlands.

Guardiola's men are?2/5 to win the Premier League title this season and?2/11 to claim maximum points at West Brom.
