Brisbane striker Scott McDonald will be missing once again when Roar take on Western Sydney Wanderers on Friday night.

The 37-year-old did not make the trip to Macarthur last week as Roar picked up a much needed 2-1 win with coach Warren Moon unable to shed any light on the situation after the match.

Moon again remains tight-lipped ahead of the Wanderers clash, refusing to discuss the situation, preferring instead to focus on the game itself.

McDonald has been struggling with injuries but Moon would not confirm whether that was the issue this time.

The Roar coach is just keen for his team to build on the win over the Bulls which snapped an eight-game run without a win.

"Obviously it boosted confidence," Moon told reporters. "It was a bit of a while without one but I maintain, and I said all along, the performances were not too bad.

"We've been competitive in every game and we were due that, we deserved that. Hopefully now we can look to build on it."

Roar have also been handed a big boost with the return of Jack Hingert who has made a quicker than expected recovery from the knee injury he picked up two weeks ago.

"Great news on Jack ... it's not something we thought was a possibility two weeks ago so really happy with the diagnosis there and the recovery," Moon added. "It's a bonus to take Jack with us to Sydney."

Roar have included Japanese forward Masato Kudo in their squad while Wanderers have added Dylan McGowan, Jordon Mutch and Tate Russell.

Roar are priced at?10/11 to make the A-League top six.
